In response to recent violent attacks on the timeless heritage of Bengali culture and free thought, one of the nation’s leading cultural organisations, Chayannat, has organised a ‘Solidarity Rally Through Song’. The event is scheduled to take place this afternoon at 4:00 PM in front of the Chayannat Cultural Centre in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi district.
The rally seeks to employ music as a language of protest and unity, bringing together citizens from across the spectrum of society. Distinguished musicians, writers, intellectuals, journalists, and other cultural activists committed to progressive thinking are expected to attend. Organisers have issued a heartfelt appeal for all conscientious citizens to join the peaceful demonstration and lend their voices to this collective message of solidarity.
According to sources at Chayannat, the event will feature performances of numerous classic Bengali songs, each chosen for its message of humanity, secularism, and resilience in the face of adversity. The artists will perform together in a show of unity, underlining the power of collective voices against violence and intolerance.

The event underscores the power of song and collective voice to foster unity among citizens and to reaffirm cultural identity in challenging times.
A spokesperson for Chayannat stated, “Through music, we express both resistance and hope. Our songs reflect the values of humanity, tolerance, and solidarity, reminding us that the fight against hatred is not only necessary but must be peaceful and inclusive.”
The solidarity rally promises not only to be a cultural gathering but also a resonant statement of conscience, uniting citizens through melody and message. Attendees hope that this demonstration of harmony through art will inspire broader societal reflection and strengthen the collective resolve against intolerance.
