A devastating head-on collision between two passenger buses on the Dhaka–Sylhet highway in Osmani Nagar, Sylhet, claimed the lives of two individuals and left at least twelve others injured on Saturday morning. The accident occurred at approximately 7:00 am near Dayamir Madrasa.
According to police reports and eyewitness accounts, a Dhaka-bound bus operated by Ena Transport (registration: Dhaka Metro-B-12-3560) collided head-on with a Sylhet-bound Shyamoli Transport bus (registration: Dhaka Metro-B-24286). Eyewitnesses described a scene of chaos, reporting that both drivers appeared to have lost control of their vehicles, resulting in a direct, high-impact collision.
Local residents, assisted by the Tajpur Fire Service and Osmani Nagar police, rushed to the scene to rescue the injured. Victims were promptly transported to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, where doctors confirmed that several patients were in critical condition and receiving intensive care.

Osmani Nagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Murshedul Alam Bhuiya confirmed that an investigation into the accident has commenced and medical treatment for the injured is ongoing. He added that increased caution and stricter traffic management would be implemented in high-risk sections of the highway.
