Prime Bank Empowers Youth Through Financial Inclusion

Prime Bank PLC recently hosted a seminar titled “Financial Inclusion: Encouraging and Inspiring Youth in Banking”, in collaboration with Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and its Career Club. Organised under the bank’s educational initiative, PrimeAcademia, the event aimed to equip young people with financial literacy, innovative thinking, and leadership skills, preparing them to actively participate in an inclusive economy.

The seminar’s keynote speaker, M. Nazim A. Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Consumer & SME Banking at Prime Bank, highlighted the transformative role of artificial intelligence, data-driven decision-making, and technological innovation in modern banking. He encouraged students to prepare for tech-based careers that blend innovation with social impact, emphasising that such readiness accelerates inclusive economic growth.

Shaila Abedin, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Accountability, addressed women’s leadership and ethical banking. She urged young women to assume leadership roles in financial institutions and stressed the importance of value-based decision-making in building sustainable banking practices.

M. M. Mahbub Hasan, Senior Vice President and Head of Financial Inclusion & School Banking, spoke on the necessity of early financial education. He explained that introducing students to banking concepts from a young age fosters responsible and financially capable citizens.

Dr. Ferdous Sarkar, Professor of Industrial and Production Engineering at BUET, emphasised the critical link between academic learning and industry engagement. He noted that bridging theoretical knowledge with practical economic challenges enhances students’ career preparedness.
