Ayesha Khan Danced ‘Dhurandhar’ Despite Menstrual Pain

The song ‘Shararat’ from Ranbir Singh’s blockbuster film Dhurandhar continues to dominate party playlists across the country. Actress Ayesha Khan, who performed alongside Crystal D’Souza in the song, recently revealed that filming the energetic sequence was an immensely challenging experience for her, as she was on her period during the shoot.

The 23-year-old star has been hailed as a dancing queen following her performance in Shararat. Simultaneously, Ayesha has been spotted on screen with comedian Kapil Sharma in another project. However, it was Dhurandhar that truly cemented her status in the film industry.

Choreographer Vijay Ganguly designed the song’s iconic hook step, which has become a viral sensation. Yet, mastering these intricate moves was far from easy for Ayesha. In a candid interview, she recounted the physical and emotional challenges of the shoot, admitting that being on her period made the experience significantly more taxing.

“It was a two-day shoot, extremely exhausting. I was on my period at the time, and as you know, you don’t feel your best—your body feels swollen, nothing seems quite right. If I had been at my peak condition, it would have been much easier. But we had relentless work for two straight days,” Ayesha said.

Despite the hurdles, the actress’ dedication and perseverance have won her widespread admiration on social media. Ayesha described shedding tears of joy over the song’s massive success, explaining that the combination of physical strain and heightened emotions led to her emotional release.

She also revealed that during those two intense days, the team managed to film the wedding sequence of Ranbir Singh and Sara Arjun, which appears in the background of Shararat.
