Standard Chartered Unveils Special Ramadan Offers

Standard Chartered Bank has announced an extensive suite of seasonal privileges for its customers in Bangladesh ahead of the holy month of Ramadan and the forthcoming Eid festivities. In an official statement, the bank noted that consumer expenditure typically rises sharply during Ramadan, particularly across groceries, apparel, hospitality, travel and charitable giving. The initiative, it said, is designed to ease household cash-flow pressures while accelerating the adoption of digital payment channels.

The campaign spans multiple sectors, including restaurants, five-star hotels, superstores, fashion houses, jewellery outlets, travel agencies and home décor retailers. Customers will benefit from direct discounts, cashback incentives, zero per cent interest instalment plans (EMI), voucher-based reductions and enhanced reward points for card and online transactions.

Dining and Hospitality

For the first time, the bank has introduced a “Pay for Four, Dine as Five” privilege at selected five-star properties, including Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka and Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan. The offer is timed to coincide with heightened demand for Iftar and Sehri gatherings among families and corporate groups.

Participating restaurants will extend direct discounts of up to 30 per cent, while selected hotel buffets will feature “Buy One, Get One” promotions during peak Ramadan evenings.

Groceries and Iftar Markets

To assist with rising household grocery bills, cashback incentives are available at Unimart on qualifying purchases. Popular Iftar venues such as Lahore by IKitchen and Khazana are also participating in the campaign.

For online food delivery, customers ordering via Foodpanda can access voucher-based discounts, reinforcing the bank’s push towards contactless and app-based payments.

Fashion, Jewellery and Grooming

Retail spending traditionally peaks in the latter half of Ramadan in preparation for Eid. Selected fashion brands, jewellery outlets and grooming centres will offer discounts of up to 50 per cent. Purchases at Yellow will attract 10 per cent cashback, subject to terms and conditions. Offers apply to both in-store and online transactions.

Home Décor and Instalment Facilities

Reflecting pre-Eid renovation and electronics purchases, the bank is providing zero per cent interest EMI facilities for up to 36 months. According to the bank, extended instalment tenures are structured to mitigate short-term liquidity strain for households managing seasonal expenditure spikes.

Travel Privileges

Travel partners include ShareTrip and Gozayaan. Customers may receive discounts of up to 70 per cent on domestic hotel bookings, up to 16 per cent on international airfares and up to 14 per cent on domestic flights.
