Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher Sumon has emphasised that no construction projects will be permitted outside the framework of the law. “All projects must be implemented strictly in accordance with legal provisions,” he stated during a meeting with heads of departmental offices under his ministry, held on Saturday evening at the Comilla Circuit House Auditorium.
Minister Sumon asserted, “Our government has pledged that we will not act beyond the law. The rule of law must be upheld in every project. While past actions cannot be undone, we are placing the utmost importance on ensuring that no deviations occur in the future. During my tenure, legal compliance will remain the foremost priority in project execution.”
He further highlighted the government’s commitment to curbing wasteful expenditure and controlling corruption. “Projects that were previously suspended or halted will be reviewed and, where necessary, prioritised for resumption to meet current requirements,” he added.
