Dhaka – The content creator RS Fahim has been given a 24-hour ultimatum for arrest by a newly formed organisation named ‘Moncho-24’. According to the group, Fahim allegedly played a role in supporting the Awami League and targeting students and the general public.
The announcement was made during a press conference in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon, led by Fahim Faruki, the convenor of Moncho-24. Speaking to reporters, Faruki criticised the interim government for failing to detain RS Fahim, claiming that internal elements within the administration were deliberately obstructing action against him.
“Despite repeated calls, the government has failed to take RS Fahim into custody,” Faruki said. “We believe certain officials within the government are shielding him, which is why his arrest has been delayed.”
Moncho-24 alleges that Fahim not only supported Chhatra League and Jubo League activities but also engaged in morally and politically questionable practices on behalf of Awami League leaders. These accusations include the facilitation of women for party officials, a claim Faruki stressed at the press briefing.
The organisation issued a stern warning that any attempt by the Awami League to regain political momentum would be met with “strict resistance.” Faruki emphasised that Moncho-24 is committed to monitoring political activities closely and will not tolerate what it views as exploitation or intimidation of students and ordinary citizens.
| Allegation Category | Details Provided by Moncho-24 |
|---|---|
| Political Patronage | RS Fahim supported Chhatra League and Jubo League initiatives |
| Targeting Citizens | Involvement in attacks on students and the general public |
| Moral Misconduct | Accusations of supplying women to political leaders |
| Government Inaction | Claims of interference within the interim government preventing arrest |
While Moncho-24 positions itself as a watchdog against political abuse, critics have expressed concern over the aggressive language used in the ultimatum, warning that such confrontational tactics could escalate tensions in an already polarised political climate.
The 24-hour deadline has sparked a flurry of speculation across Dhaka’s political circles, with observers closely monitoring whether the interim government will act or whether the ultimatum could trigger wider unrest.
