Over the past four days, following the initiation of military operations against Iran, United States military installations and equipment in the Gulf region and the broader Middle East have sustained significant damage. At least seven US bases and several diplomatic compounds have come under attack, with preliminary assessments estimating combined military and diplomatic losses at approximately 1.902 billion dollars.
| Location & Base | Type of Damage | Estimated Value (Million USD) | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| Qatar, Al Udeid Air Base | AN/FPS-132 early warning radar damaged | 1,100 | Severe damage to radar system from Iranian missile strike |
| Kuwait, Camp Arifjan | Three F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jets destroyed | 282 | Destroyed due to misfired air defence response |
| Bahrain, Fifth Fleet Headquarters | Satellite communication terminal destroyed | 20 | AN/GSC-52B terminal and associated building demolished |
| UAE, Al-Ruwais | THAAD anti-ballistic missile radar | 500 | Satellite imagery indicates structural impairment |
| Iraq, Erbil Base | Four structures damaged | – | Satellite images show smoke and fire, value not yet assessed |
| UAE, Jebel Ali Port | Damage to US Navy-utilised building | – | Large building shows smoke and fire |
| Kuwait, Ali Al Salem Air Base | Partial roof collapse | – | Impact of Iranian strike; assessment incomplete |
Iran has also targeted American diplomatic sites. In Riyadh, the US Embassy suffered two drone strikes, resulting in minor fire damage. The US Embassy in Kuwait faced drone and missile attacks, with visible smoke but full damage assessment pending. In Dubai, the Consulate General experienced a suspected drone strike, causing a brief fire in the parking area, which was quickly contained.
Analysts suggest that these attacks have significantly disrupted US military readiness and defensive stability in the region. Qatar and Kuwait experienced the highest-value losses, particularly affecting advanced radar and high-cost technologies. Strikes on ports and airbases have also weakened supply chains and communication networks.
Consequently, Gulf nations are reassessing US security and diplomatic operations. The attacks highlight ongoing regional tensions and indicate potential future responses.
In four days, Iranian operations have affected US military and diplomatic assets valued at roughly 1.902 billion dollars. This escalation may have long-term implications for regional military balance, diplomatic relations, defence expenditures, and operational protocols for both military and diplomatic personnel in the Gulf.
