This year’s Eid brings the release of five Bangladeshi films: Abu Hayat Mahmud’s Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka, Redwan Rony’s Dom, Rayhan Rafi’s Pressure Cooker, Tanim Noor’s Bonolota Express, and Mehedi Hasan’s Rakshas. Unlike previous years, the films have premiered relatively late, just before the festive holiday. Alongside the films, their songs are already drawing significant attention, prompting a lively discussion among fans and viewers.
The first track to release from Rakshas was Shuddhatar Prem on 16 March. Written by Tanmoy Parvez and composed by Arafat Mohsin, it features the voices of Imran and Konal, with Siam Ahmed and Sushmita Chatterjee appearing on-screen. Shot in scenic Sri Lanka, the romantic number has received mixed reactions.
Fans praised its unique emotional tone, with one YouTube comment noting, “This song has a distinctive feeling unlike any other romantic track.” Others suggested that the choreography could have been more engaging, while some lauded Siam’s performance but felt that Sushmita’s expressions lacked depth. To date, the video has garnered over 575,000 views.
Following this, Tumi Chhara was released on 18 March. Written by Rabiul Islam Jibon and sung by Imran and Dola Rahman, with composition by Imran, the track has been widely appreciated, reaching more than 215,000 views.
Prince’s first song, Pari, premiered last Thursday and has already amassed over 1.73 million views. Sung by Imran and Konal and written by Rabiul Islam, the video stars Shakib Khan and Jyotirmoyee Kundu. Audiences admired Shakib’s long hair and the desert locations, though some found Jyotirmoyee’s performance a bit reserved.
Another track, Jwala Jwala, was released the night before Eid. This upbeat dance number, featuring Shakib Khan and Tasnia Farin, is sung by Runa Laila and Pritam Hasan, with composition by Pritam Hasan. It achieved over 520,000 views within 13 hours. While Runa Laila’s vocals drew praise, some viewers felt the song did not fully meet the high expectations set by previous hits like Lage Ura Ura or Chand Mama.
From Dom, the track Kothay Pabo Tahare was released last Friday. Sung by Imran and Parsha Mahjabin, composed and written by Parsha, it portrays longing for a loved one and features both rural Bangladeshi landscapes—paddy fields and local fairs—and desert locations abroad. The video stars Afran Nisho and Puja Cherry, and has accumulated over 260,000 views in just 17 hours.
In Bonolota Express, Chai Tei Paro was released on 7 March, with 249,000 views to date. Another track, Ural Deb Akashe, released during the full moon, features the iconic voice of Ayub Bachchu, newly recorded by Ahmed Hasan, and has 74,000 views.
Pressure Cooker’s songs have not yet been released, leaving fans eager for the musical offerings from this film.
