Deadly Fireworks Factory Explosion

At least 20 people have been killed following a powerful explosion at a fireworks manufacturing unit in India’s Tamil Nadu state. The incident occurred on Sunday in the Virudhunagar District, an area known for its extensive fireworks industry. Authorities confirmed that the blast took place in Kattanapatti, a locality within the district, during routine production activities.

According to preliminary reports from local authorities, the explosion may have been triggered while workers were handling and mixing volatile chemical compounds used in the production of fireworks. Police indicated that approximately 30 workers were present inside the facility at the time of the incident, engaged in manufacturing activities.
