A 17-year-old youth, identified as Hazrat Ali, has died following a violent assault in the Taltali Upazila of Barguna district. The incident, which reportedly stemmed from a minor dispute during a football match, has led to allegations against Md. Musa, the son of a local primary school headmaster.
The altercation occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, 25 April, at the Harinkhola Madrasa field. According to local witnesses, a group of local youths was engaged in a football match at the time. Among the players was Md. Musa, the son of Abdur Rahim, who serves as the headmaster of Harinkhola Kabirajpara Government Primary School.
Simultaneously, Hazrat Ali, the son of the late Idris Khalifa, was passing the field via an adjacent road while leading his cattle home. During this transit, a young calf detached from the herd and strayed onto the playing surface, momentarily disrupting the football game.
