BTS Agency Dismisses Rumours of Group Disbandment

BIGHIT MUSIC (formerly known as Big Hit Entertainment), the management agency for the global K-pop phenomenon BTS, has officially addressed and dismissed recurring rumours regarding the group’s potential disbandment. Nicole Kim, Vice President of the agency, issued a firm statement clarifying that there is no truth to the speculation. According to the agency, the bond between the members remains resolute, and the group is currently focused on an expansive trajectory of collective growth.

Official Response to Disbandment Speculation

The rumours gained traction following the successful individual solo careers of the seven members: RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Observers and sections of the media speculated that these independent ventures might lead to internal friction or a permanent cessation of group activities.

However, Nicole Kim directly countered these assertions, stating that the members themselves would find such rumours “utterly ridiculous” if they were to pay them any heed. She reaffirmed that all seven artists remain deeply committed to one another and to the group’s future as a unified entity.

The Success of ‘Arirang’ and the Credit Controversy

On 20 March of this year, BTS released their fifth studio album, titled ‘Arirang’. The project achieved immediate commercial success, breaking several global records shortly after its debut. Despite the album’s success, concerns were raised by the fanbase regarding the absence of the eldest member, Jin, from the songwriting and production credits.

The agency clarified that this omission was purely a matter of scheduling and logistics rather than a sign of internal discord. During the primary production phase of ‘Arirang’, Jin was occupied with his solo world tour. By the time he was able to join the recording sessions, the composition and lyrical development of the tracks were already nearing completion. While Jin participated in preparatory work, he was unable to contribute to the final songwriting stages. Jin has expressed his intent to be more actively involved in the creative aspects of future group projects.

Expansion of the Global Tour

BTS is currently embarked on one of their most ambitious world tours to date. The tour, which is currently moving through its United States leg, features a massive production scale and new stage designs. Interestingly, Jin played a pivotal role in the expansion of this tour, encouraging the label to increase the number of stops and include more continents.

Tour Metric Details
Total Scheduled Stops 85
Current Leg United States
Projected Duration Extended through 2027
Total Members 7 (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook)
Lead Agency BIGHIT MUSIC (HYBE)

Future Outlook

The strategic planning of the current tour suggests a long-term commitment, with dates potentially extending into 2027. This timeline serves as a practical rebuttal to the disbandment rumours. Instead of winding down operations, the agency maintains that BTS is strengthening its position in the global music industry. The official stance remains clear: the group is not breaking up; they are continuing to make history together through larger-scale international engagements and collaborative projects.
