The President of Bangladesh, Mohammed Shahabuddin, has extended his official felicitations to the citizens of the nation and the global Muslim community on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. In a formal state message broadcast from Bangabhaban on Thursday, 28 May 2026, the Head of State issued an appeal to the wealthy and privileged tiers of society, calling on them to advance human welfare by sharing the festivities with the poor, marginalized, and needy.
President Shahabuddin stated that Eid-ul-Adha stands as a universal, transcendent reminder of self-sacrifice, spiritual reformation, and the elimination of malice, animosity, and base impulses within the human character, rather than just a primary religious holiday.
The President noted that the sacred occasion has returned to guide the community through its emphasis on absolute submission to divine will, steadfast loyalty, and the principles of social egalitarianism.
