A temporary suspension of rail services has been imposed on the Mymensingh–Jamalpur route after a carriage of the Dhaka-bound Brahmaputra Express intercity train derailed on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 8:55 am on 10 June in the College Road area of Mymensingh city. As a result of the derailment, train operations between Mymensingh and Jamalpur were brought to a complete halt while railway authorities initiated recovery efforts.
The information was confirmed by Abdullah Al Harun, Superintendent of Mymensingh Railway Junction. According to railway officials, a carriage of the Brahmaputra Express, which was travelling from Jamalpur towards Dhaka, left the tracks in the College Road section of the route.
The derailment immediately disrupted rail communication on the Mymensingh–Jamalpur corridor, affecting scheduled train movements through the section. Railway authorities subsequently began taking measures to restore normal operations and clear the affected line.
