A two-year-old child was killed and at least five other individuals sustained injuries following a head-on collision between a private car and a passenger-carrying easy-bike. The road traffic accident transpired on Friday evening along the Rajbari–Kushtia Regional Highway, specifically in the Kalukhali College Intersection area under the jurisdiction of Kalukhali Upazila in Rajbari.
The deceased infant has been identified as Aadvik Agrawal, the two-year-old son of Joy Agrawal, residing in the Ambikapur area under the Kotwali Police Station in Faridpur.
The collision resulted in injuries to five other individuals. Among the injured are the mother of the deceased toddler, Jyoti Khetan Agrawal, aged 32, and his paternal uncle, Mahadeb Agrawal, aged 25. The remaining injured individuals were occupants of the easy-bike: the driver, Sohag Mia, aged 45, and two passengers, identified as Selina Begum, aged 50, and Islam Mondal, aged 50. Following the incident, Jyoti Khetan Agrawal and Mahadeb Agrawal were admitted to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for treatment.
According to data compiled by the Pangsha Highway Police and local sources, Jyoti Agrawal was travelling from her paternal home in Joypurhat back to Faridpur in a private car. She was accompanied by her two-year-old son, Aadvik, and her brother-in-law, Mahadeb Agrawal. At approximately 18:30 hours, as the vehicle approached the Kalukhali College Intersection, it collided head-on with a passenger-carrying easy-bike bound for Pangsha, which was approaching from the opposite direction.
The driver of the easy-bike, Sohag Mia, stated that the private car initially struck a van positioned ahead of his vehicle before veering into a direct collision with the easy-bike. The impact completely mangled the easy-bike and left multiple passengers injured. Concurrently, the private car lost structural control and plunged into a roadside ditch. During the impact, two-year-old Aadvik was thrown from his mother’s lap, sustaining severe trauma that subsequently caused his death.
