As the FIFA World Cup continues across the United States, Mexico and Canada, football fever has intensified worldwide, with Bangladesh firmly caught up in the excitement. With the tournament approaching its knockout stages in the coming days, acclaimed Bangladeshi music producer and composer Fuad Almuqtadir has released a new anthem designed to capture the emotion, rhythm and cultural reach of the beautiful game.
Titled “Kandari Chol”, the track goes beyond conventional sports celebration, presenting football as an essential part of everyday life in Bangladesh. Rather than treating the game solely as competition on the pitch, the song frames it as a shared cultural experience that resonates through communities, friendships and generations.
The composition brings together a diverse lineup of artists. Vocals are performed by Bangladeshi musicians Mila, Pantho Kanai, Bammy, Sanjana, and rapper Black Zang, alongside Nigerian artist Oli Boy. The collaboration reflects the global nature of football itself, merging voices and influences across continents.
Musically, “Kandari Chol” draws inspiration from Brazilian baile funk while incorporating Bangladeshi folk textures, stadium-style chants, electronic production and rap elements. The result is a layered soundscape that mirrors the energy of both crowded streets and packed stadiums. According to the creators, the central message is straightforward: football is life.
In Bangladesh, football culture extends far beyond professional matches. It is present in neighbourhood alleyways where informal games are played, in rooftop gatherings filled with lively debate, in tea stalls where supporters argue over tactics, and on streets decorated with the colours of international teams. The song attempts to reflect this everyday passion and the sense of unity it creates.
The lyrics were written by Tiger Chowdhury, Mahbub Morshed (Shihab), Oli Boy and Black Zang, each contributing distinct perspectives shaped by music, sport and urban life. The accompanying music video, directed by Miraj Hossain and produced by Runout Films, visually complements the song’s energetic and communal tone.
Speaking about the project, Fuad Almuqtadir explained that the aim was to tell a broader human story through football—one that encompasses aspiration, friendship, rivalry, joy and shared emotion. He emphasised that the game serves as a universal language capable of connecting people beyond borders.
