Monir Khan’s Mother Showing Recovery

The mother of renowned Bangladeshi musician Monir Khan, Monowara Khatun, was recently admitted to hospital after suddenly falling ill, though her condition has now shown encouraging signs of improvement, according to the singer.

She was taken to hospital after experiencing severe chest pain on the evening of 20 June. Initially, family members rushed her to a nearby local medical facility, but as her condition appeared to deteriorate, doctors advised immediate transfer to a hospital in Jashore for more advanced treatment. Upon arrival, she was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) for close monitoring and urgent medical support.

Speaking about the incident, Monir Khan recalled that the situation had initially caused significant alarm within the family. The sudden onset of chest pain led to fears of a possible cardiac event. “My mother experienced sudden chest pain in the evening of 20 June. My younger brothers first took her to a local hospital near our home. Doctors there advised that she be transferred to Jashore immediately,” he said.

Following a series of medical examinations and specialist consultations, doctors ruled out a heart attack. Instead, they indicated that her symptoms were likely linked to an internal infection, which may have triggered severe discomfort and a drop in blood pressure. At one stage, her blood pressure had fallen significantly, contributing to concerns about her stability.

Monir Khan further explained that medical staff formed a review board to assess her condition comprehensively before confirming that it was not a cardiac-related emergency. “After reviewing the reports, the doctors confirmed that she did not suffer a cardiac attack. They suggested that an internal infection could be responsible for the pain, along with her low blood pressure,” he added.

Fortunately, her condition has improved under close medical supervision. She has since been transferred from the ICU to a general ward for continued observation. Doctors are reportedly satisfied with her progress and are monitoring her recovery closely. The family remains hopeful that she may be discharged in the near future, depending on her continued stability.

Monir Khan expressed cautious optimism about her recovery, stating that the medical team is considering releasing her once she is fully stable. “Her condition has improved significantly after treatment. She has been moved out of the ICU and is now under observation in a ward. We are hopeful she may be discharged soon,” he said.
