Vaibhav Suryavanshi Surges 230 Places in Latest ICC T20I Rankings

Indian batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has made an unprecedented leap in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20I Batter Rankings, climbing a staggering 230 spots following a single breakout series. The young prodigy now occupies the 48th position globally, amassing 536 rating points. This remarkable surge places him eighth among Indian batters in the shortest format of the game, highlighting his meteoric rise on the international stage.

The latest updates to the rankings reflect significant movements across the board for Indian cricketers. Ishan Kishan continues to lead the T20I batting charts from the top spot with an impressive 910 rating points. Meanwhile, dynamic opener Abhishek Sharma sits comfortably in third position with 819 points. Tilak Varma has also made notable progress, moving up two places to sixth position with a tally of 750 points. India’s newly appointed T20I captain, Shreyas Iyer, advanced seven places to reach 24th position. The Indian players currently ranking ahead of Suryavanshi in the T20I standings include Suryakumar Yadav in 19th, Shreyas Iyer in 24th, Shivam Dube in 30th, and Sanju Samson in 33rd.

The ICC rankings update also brought positive news for India in the One Day International (ODI) format. Star opener Shubman Gill reclaimed the world number one spot following a prolific run-scoring campaign against England. Accumulating 801 rating points, Gill successfully displaced New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell from the summit.

Further down the ODI batting charts, veteran stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma maintained their positions at third and fourth respectively. Both seasoned icons, who now focus exclusively on the 50-over format, continue to display remarkable consistency at the highest level. Additionally, Shreyas Iyer holds the 13th spot in the ODI rankings, while KL Rahul features in 18th place.
