In a swift and coordinated multi-team operation, Jasore District Police have arrested three key associates of the notorious Chittagong criminal mastermind Mobarak Hossain Emon, widely known by his alias “David”. The high-stakes police raid was executed during the early hours of Wednesday at approximately 3:45 AM in the Jhumjhumpur area, situated within the jurisdiction of Kotwali Model Police Station in Jasore.
The joint law enforcement crackdown involved nine specialized units drawn from the Jasore District Detective Branch (DB) and Kotwali Model Police Station. The three arrested individuals have been identified as 25-year-old Al Islam Alif (also known as Tamal), 28-year-old Md. Shamim, and 28-year-old Md. Safayet Hossain. All three men are believed to be close accomplices in the criminal syndicate led by the 25-year-old terrorist Mobarak Hossain Emon, who is implicated in multiple severe offences across Chittagong district.
District police officials confirmed that the intelligence-led operation was initiated following an urgent formal requisition order dispatched by the Chittagong District Police. According to preliminary findings by law enforcement agencies, David Emon and his associates had fled their usual hideouts in Chittagong and travelled to the border region of Jasore in a desperate attempt to cross over into India and evade mounting pressure from local security forces.
Prompt intervention and tracking by Jasore’s law enforcement network effectively thwarted the group’s escape plans before they could cross the international border. Following their apprehension at Jhumjhumpur, Jasore District Police completed all initial administrative and legal formalities. Subsequently, on Wednesday afternoon, David Emon along with his three arrested associates were officially handed over to a specialized escort team from Chittagong District Police.
The suspects are being transferred back to Chittagong, where they will face formal legal proceedings, interrogation, and court appearances regarding their extensive criminal activities. Senior police officers noted that the arrest of these three key accomplices marks a major breakthrough in dismantling David Emon’s criminal network. Authorities anticipate that their custody and subsequent interrogation will yield crucial intelligence regarding the gang’s operational dynamics, illegal weapons caches, and other absconding members affiliated with the group.
