Actress Ridhika Riddhi Found Dead in Bashundhara Residential Area

Tragedy struck the entertainment industry on Saturday morning as police recovered the body of young actress and model Ridhika Riddhi from her home in the Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital. The 24-year-old artist was found hanging from a ceiling fan at around 6:00 AM on 15 August.

Following the discovery, Riddhi was rushed to Kurmitola General Hospital, where attending physicians officially declared her dead upon arrival. Officers from the Vatara Police Station were dispatched shortly after receiving notification from hospital authorities. Initial forensic assessments and preliminary police inquiries suggest the incident was a suicide.

Providing details on the sequence of events, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Vatara Police Station, Mazharul Islam, confirmed that police officers arrived at Kurmitola General Hospital to examine the body and initiate procedures. Family members, including the actress’s mother, gathered at the police station to assist investigators. According to statements provided by her family, Riddhi had been in a romantic relationship. Early on Saturday morning, an argument reportedly erupted between Riddhi and her partner during a video call. Police revealed that during the heated exchange, the actress took her own life while the video call was still connected.

The deceased’s family has lodged a formal complaint, prompting law enforcement to initiate legal proceedings and launch a comprehensive investigation into the exact circumstances leading up to the tragedy.

Ridhika Riddhi had built a steady presence in domestic television and modeling over recent years. Beginning her career in front of the camera as a fashion model, she successfully transitioned into acting, earning roles in several television dramas and telefilms.
