Worker’s Body Recovered From BRAC Office in Subarnachar

Police have recovered the hanging body of a BRAC employee from a branch office in the Kanchanbazar area of Char Jabbar Union in Subarnachar upazila of Noakhali.

The deceased was identified as Daudul Islam Tushar, who was from Feni district. He had joined the BRAC branch in Kanchanbazar as an auditor around four months ago, according to information available locally.

The body was recovered from a room inside the branch office on Tuesday morning, 18 August. Local sources said that people associated with the office went to collect the key needed to open the premises in the morning. At one point, they found Tushar hanging inside one of the rooms.

Police were informed soon afterwards. A team from Subarnachar Police Station went to the office and recovered the body. Officers also inspected the scene and began collecting preliminary information about the circumstances surrounding the death.

The body was being prepared to be sent to the morgue of Noakhali General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Police said the examination would be important in determining the precise cause of death.

Subarnachar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Hasan confirmed that the body of a BRAC employee had been recovered from the organisation’s office. He said the incident was being investigated and that further details about the cause of death would be known after the post-mortem report was received.

Police have not yet reached any conclusion about how or why Tushar died. Although his body was found hanging, the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation. Authorities are expected to examine the condition of the room, the circumstances in which the body was discovered and other relevant information as part of the inquiry.

Tushar had been working at the branch for only about four months, making the incident particularly concerning for people in the area. News of the death has caused a stir locally, while police continue to establish the facts.

The investigation is ongoing. Officials have stressed that the post-mortem findings, together with information gathered during the investigation, will be necessary before the circumstances of Tushar’s death can be determined with certainty.
