The Advisory Council has decided to bestow state honours upon two teachers, Mahrin Chowdhury and Masuka Begum, who tragically lost their lives in the Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka.
This decision was made during the council’s regular meeting held on Thursday, 24 July, at the Office of the Chief Adviser. The council announced that the details of the state honours will be determined and disclosed shortly.
According to the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser’s Office, the meeting began with a condolence motion in memory of those who perished in the devastating accident. A minute of silence was observed to honour the departed souls, followed by prayers for their eternal peace.
The press statement also confirmed that the government has resolved to provide all necessary support to the families of the deceased and to ensure comprehensive medical treatment for the injured. The Ministry of Education will coordinate with the school authorities to determine the next steps for support and rehabilitation.
Furthermore, to honour the victims and pray for the recovery of the injured, special prayers will be held across all religious institutions in the country on Friday. The Ministry of Religious Affairs will oversee and coordinate this nationwide observance.
