The inflow of remittances to Bangladesh has experienced a substantial year-on-year increase of 33.6%, reaching USD 2,099 million in the first 27 days of July, according to the latest figures released by Bangladesh Bank (BB).
This marks a significant rise from the USD 1,572 million received during the same period in July of the previous year.

Record-Breaking Fiscal Year for Remittances
Expatriate Bangladeshis have sent a record-breaking USD 30.33 billion in remittances during the 2024–2025 fiscal year (FY25), marking the highest ever annual remittance inflow in the nation’s history.
This remarkable achievement represents a 26.80% increase from the USD 23.91 billion received in the 2023–2024 fiscal year (FY24).

The continuous rise in remittance inflow is attributed to strengthened financial channels, policy support from the central bank, and proactive engagement with the Bangladeshi diaspora. This positive trend is expected to bolster the country’s foreign currency reserves and contribute to economic stability
