Jack White Announces Landmark First-Ever South African Tour

Grammy Award-winning musician, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Jack White has formally announced his maiden tour of South Africa. The upcoming performances will bring one of modern rock music’s most electrifying live performers to African soil for the first time, marking a significant milestone in his decades-long career.
The tour kicks off in Johannesburg on Friday, 11 December 2026, where White will perform at the historic Old Park Station. Following his Gauteng date, he will travel to the Western Cape for a second show at the scenic Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Cape Town on Monday, 14 December 2026. Both venues will offer South African audiences an intimate experience of White’s raw guitar work, distinct vocal delivery, and famously spontaneous setlists.
White’s live repertoire will draw extensively across his varied musical ventures. Audiences can expect material spanning his formative years in garage-rock duo The White Stripes, his work with supergroups The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, alongside tracks from his celebrated solo catalogue.
The South African leg coincides with the promotional cycle for White’s seventh studio solo LP, Frozen Charlotte. The album features the fierce closing track and single “Neighbors Blues”, which has newly arrived across digital streaming platforms. Frozen Charlotte was initially unveiled last month alongside its lead track, “Dollar Bill”, drawing critical acclaim from major international music publications including Rolling Stone, NME, Stereogum, SPIN, and Consequence.
White first burst onto the global music scene alongside drummer Meg White as one half of The White Stripes. Their stripped-back, blues-infused garage rock re-energised the genre in the early 2000s and influenced a generation of indie musicians. Beyond the iconic duo, White expanded his repertoire through collaborative bands and a formidable solo career that includes critically lauded albums such as Blunderbuss, Lazaretto, Boarding House Reach, Fear of the Dawn, Entering Heaven Alive, and No Name.
Throughout his career, White has maintained a reputation as an uncompromising artist operating outside conventional industry norms. His contributions as a producer, collaborator, and founder of Third Man Records have earned him multiple Grammy Awards and solidified his standing as an enduring architect of modern rock canon.
