Her mother was due to join her shortly afterwards. However, upon arriving at her father’s home, the mother discovered that the child had never reached her destination. An urgent search commenced across the neighbourhood. During this frantic period, the mother went into labour and was admitted to a private hospital in the district town.

Two days after the disappearance, local residents discovered the girl’s body hidden in a dense thicket near her house. Police retrieved the remains, but advanced decomposition—characterised by severe swelling and facial discoloration—has hindered the collection of immediate physical evidence. The inquest report noted that the body was found in a remote, overgrown area, which explains why family members had not checked the spot during their initial search. A pair of the child’s sandals was recovered from the scene.

Hospitalized for childbirth, the mother remained unaware of her daughter’s death as of Tuesday afternoon, believing her child was still missing. Family members at the hospital mortuary confirmed that they withheld the tragic news to protect her health during labour.
