The fatal incident unfolded earlier in the week in the Golabaria area, located within Ward No. 2 of Muradpur Union under Sitakunda Upazila. Local sources reported that an altercation erupted between two rival factions, quickly escalating into physical violence. During the clash, a group of armed miscreants targeted Mansur, inflicting critical blade injuries across his body before fleeing the scene. Nearby residents rushed to his aid and transported him in a precarious condition to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where doctors admitted him to intensive care. Despite prolonged medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries.

Mansur was a resident of the Golabaria neighbourhood and the son of the late Salamat Ullah, locally known as Junu, of the Khalil Bhuiyan homestead.

Confirming the fatality, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sitakunda Model Police Station, Mohammad Mohinul Islam, stated that the fatal assault stemmed from an earlier clash involving two local groups. He explained that officers responded immediately after receiving news of the victim’s passing at the medical facility.

Law enforcement authorities have formally registered a murder case in connection with the attack. Investigators are actively gathering evidence and conducting raids across various potential hideouts to apprehend those named in the initial information report. Police presence has been reinforced in parts of Muradpur Union to maintain public order and prevent potential reprisal attacks amidst heightened local tensions.

Sitakunda upazila has witnessed recurring political friction and territorial disputes in recent months. Local residents have expressed growing alarm over the sporadic outbursts of violence, urging authorities to ensure swift justice and restore stability throughout the area.
