A horrific case of betrayal and brutal violence has surfaced in Kerala’s Thrissur district, where a woman allegedly hired a gang of criminals to kidnap and gang-rape a young woman who was travelling with her husband. The victim was abducted, assaulted, and subjected to a ordeal after the wife tracked her spouse’s location using mobile phone technology and dispatched a group of henchmen to exact revenge.

Police have arrested six individuals in connection with the crime, including the principal mastermind—the wife—and five men who carried out the abduction, severe physical assault, and sexual violence.

According to investigative authorities, the incident unfolded when the young victim and her married male acquaintance booked a room at a local hotel during a trip together. The suspect, suspecting her husband of infidelity, utilised mobile location-tracking features on his smartphone to pinpoint his exact coordinates. Upon confirming his presence at the hotel with the woman, she reportedly contacted a gang of local criminals and instructed them to intervene.

Posing as plainclothes police officers, five men gained entry to the hotel room under the guise of an official investigation. They restrained the couple, forced them into separate vehicles, and drove off. During the ordeal, the married man was subjected to relentless physical violence; the attackers fractured both his arms and legs before dumping his battered body outside a medical facility in the neighbouring state of Tamil Nadu.

Simultaneously, two members of the gang isolated the young woman in a second vehicle, driving her to a secluded location where she was subjected to a horrific gang rape. Following the attack, the perpetrators abandoned her and fled the area.

Local police launched an immediate operation after receiving reports of the abduction and subsequent assault. Through forensic tracking and technical surveillance, law enforcement officers swiftly apprehended the five assailants along with the wife who orchestrated the operation. Investigators confirmed that intense jealousy and marital discord driven by the husband’s trip with the victim were the primary motives behind the contract assault. Further interrogations are currently under way as authorities assemble a detailed charge sheet to present before the court.
