The central bank of Bangladesh, Bangladesh Bank, has released the latest foreign currency exchange rates, offering commercial lenders, businesses, and international remitters updated trading benchmarks. According to official figures updated on 25 October 2026, the Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) maintains a relative equilibrium across major foreign currencies, reflecting ongoing liquidity management efforts within the national financial system.
Under the current pricing schedule, the US Dollar (USD) stands at a buying rate of BDT 123.60 and a selling rate of BDT 123.72, showing a tight spread of just 12 poisha. The British Pound Sterling (GBP) remains the strongest major currency featured in the portfolio, priced at BDT 164.73 for buying and BDT 164.92 for selling.
The Euro (EUR) is positioned at BDT 138.91 for buying and BDT 139.06 for selling, whilst the Australian Dollar (AUD) trades at BDT 85.83 buying and BDT 85.99 selling. For regional and Asian trading partners, the Singapore Dollar (SGD) holds at BDT 96.59 buying and BDT 96.69 selling, whereas the Chinese Yuan (CNH) is recorded at BDT 18.48 buying and BDT 18.51 selling.
The Indian Rupee (INR) shows absolute parity between transactions, listed at BDT 1.30 for both buying and selling. Meanwhile, the Japanese Yen (JPY) continues to trade at sub-taka levels, holding steady at BDT 0.78 for both operations.
Regular calibration of these exchange benchmarks remains vital for Bangladesh’s export-oriented sectors, particularly readymade garments, as well as for foreign currency inward remittances. Importers and commercial authorised dealer banks rely on these official figures to calculate trade settlements and manage international liquidity. Financial market analysts observe that maintaining narrow spreads between buying and selling rates helps reduce transaction friction and curbs speculative trading in the curb market.
