The strangled body of Abdur Rahim Rafi, a 24-year-old former leader of the Chhatra Dal student organisation, was discovered in his own residence in Siddheshwarpur village of Rahimpur Union, Kamalganj, Moulvibazar.

On Saturday morning, friends and neighbours, who had gone searching for Abdur Rahim, found him lying bloodied and motionless on a cot inside his house. Following the discovery, family members and police arrived at the scene.
Abdur Rahim was the former president of Rahimpur Union’s Chhatra Dal and the son of the late Abdus Chattar. A friend named Sami reported that they were supposed to meet on Saturday morning, but Abdur Rahim did not wake up. Upon entering the house through the door, they found him in a bloodied condition. They then informed his cousin.
His cousin Abdul Hadi said, “Last Friday, his wife and two children went to her parental home, and he was alone in the house.”
Currently, the body has been sent to the morgue of Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the police have begun a formal investigation into the incident.
