Mirza Fakhrul explicitly rejected media reports accusing eight advisers of corruption, clarifying that these allegations have no connection with the BNP.
He said, “Which is not ours,” meaning the allegations do not belong to the BNP. He further remarked, “If anyone makes such claims, that is their personal opinion and has no relation to the party.”
Earlier on the same day, at a seminar held by the Bangladesh Administrative Association, Abdus Sattar, General Secretary of the Officers’ Club, alleged that intelligence agencies possess evidence of corruption against at least eight advisers of the interim government but that no measures have been taken to address the issue. However, he did not name any individuals.
Responding to this, Mirza Fakhrul placed full responsibility for the allegations on the former secretary Abdus Sattar and emphasised that the BNP remains detached from such statements.
