Three BNP and Jubo Dal Leaders Suspended in Satkhira

In Shyamnagar, Satkhira, three leaders from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its youth wing, Jubo Dal, have been temporarily suspended. The suspension followed allegations of violating party discipline, obstructing voting processes, and exhibiting arrogant behaviour.

Suspension Orders Issued

On Monday (11 August), the district BNP convenor Rahmatullah Palash and member secretary Abu Zahid Dablu issued separate letters signing the suspension orders.

The suspension was confirmed by district BNP member secretary Abu Zahid Dablu.

Reasons for Suspension

According to the order, on 25 July, during the democratic voting process for ward BNP leaders’ election in Shyamnagar municipality, the accused displayed arrogant behaviour, obstructed the vote, damaged the party’s reputation, and defied decisions.

As these actions were deemed contrary to party discipline, the individuals were temporarily suspended.

The notice states that on 9 August, these individuals were directly involved in harassing the chief election commissioner responsible for the ward BNP leader election council at Dhalbaria Union, obstructing voting, and seizing ballot boxes.

They have been instructed to submit a written explanation within two days.
