The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has transferred three police officers, including the controversial Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohammadpur Police Station, Ali Iftikhar Hasan.
The transfers were announced on Sunday, 24 August, through an official order signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Sajjat Ali.

The order states that the transfers are effective immediately.
Earlier, local residents had protested in front of Mohammadpur Police Station demanding the removal of its OC over allegations of negligence and other misconduct.
During the protest, citizens marched under the banner “United Mohammadpur”, calling for action against the police leadership.
The recent transfers follow these public demonstrations and reflect administrative measures to address the controversy surrounding the Mohammadpur OC.
