From the remote valleys of Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan, child vlogger Mohammad Siraj and his sister Muskan have emerged not only as popular YouTubers but also as inspiring agents of social change. By capturing the natural beauty of their village and the simplicity of rural life, the siblings have amassed millions of followers. Yet, instead of spending their earnings solely on themselves, Siraj and Muskan have channelled their fame and income into rebuilding their village’s crumbling school.
Through donations and collective support, the old, dilapidated school has now been transformed into the modern “Zaki Academy.” Their initiative has demonstrated the immense potential of social media as a force for community welfare.
In a heartfelt video message, Siraj’s father, Mohammad Taqi, explained the story behind the school’s transformation. He shared earlier footage of the school’s dire conditions, showing children forced to study under the open sky, many without shoes, uniforms, or basic facilities.
Taqi revealed that he could have easily moved his family to Islamabad in search of a better life, but chose instead to remain in the village:
“Our village lies far from Baltistan, with very limited facilities. Allah blessed Siraj with fame. At that point, I had two choices – to leave for Islamabad in search of comfort, or to stay here, endure hardship, and work to develop our village. We decided to stay.”
Although Siraj’s YouTube income initiated the rebuilding effort, others soon joined the cause. Taqi credits much of the success to the generosity of Fauzia Zaki and her niece Zehra Zaidi, who played a vital role in turning the old school into a modern educational institution.

His authenticity and charm resonated widely. Within just four months, Siraj and Muskan became household names across the Indian subcontinent, garnering millions of views and followers.
Their journey exemplifies how digital platforms, when used responsibly, can bridge the gap between personal success and community progress.
