Child’s Body Found in Sack Three Days After Disappearance in Joypurhat

Police have recovered the body of Tasnia Akter (11), who had been missing for three days, from Shalbon village in Khetlal upazila, Joypurhat.

The discovery was made on Friday evening (19 September) inside the cowshed of her neighbour Ekramul Islam. The victim was the daughter of Ershad Ali, a resident of the same village.

 

According to police and local sources:

  • Tasnia had been missing for three consecutive days.
  • During a search on Friday evening, villagers noticed a sack inside Ekramul’s cowshed, which appeared suspicious.
  • Upon closer inspection, they found Tasnia’s body stuffed inside the sack.
  • Police were immediately informed and later recovered the body.
  • At the time of recovery, accused Ekramul fled the scene, while police detained his wife for questioning.

 

Md Abdul Karim, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khetlal Police Station, said: “We recovered the body after receiving information. Following the preparation of the inquest report, the body will be sent to Joypurhat General Hospital morgue for post-mortem. Operations are underway to identify and apprehend all involved in the incident.”
