Anchor Breaks Down Reading Khamenei Death News

In a dramatic development early Saturday, a news anchor on Iranian state television was visibly overcome with emotion while announcing the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, following a joint military strike by the United States and Israel. The moment highlighted the profound national shock, while another broadcaster on Press TV issued a live warning of severe retaliation against the perpetrators.

The state broadcaster’s anchor, struggling to maintain composure, addressed the nation:
“Allah is Great. With profound grief, the Iranian people are informed that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has been martyred in a joint criminal operation by the United States and Zionist regimes.”

The emotional intensity was evident, as sobbing could be heard from outside the studio during the live broadcast.

Simultaneously, Press TV anchor Mariam Azarcheh condemned the strike, describing it as a blatant act of aggression linked to the U.S. “Operation Epic Fury” under the Trump administration. Speaking live, she stated:
“This is far from over. Trump must pay a price that no U.S. president—or criminal—has ever paid before. Retribution is coming, and it will arrive very soon.”

The assault, which commenced in the early hours of Saturday, reportedly claimed the lives not only of Khamenei but also several members of his immediate family, including his daughter, grandson, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law. In addition, Iran’s Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Mohammad Pakpour were confirmed among the fatalities.
