Ashes Adopt Fortnightly Release Cycle

Bangladeshi band Ashes has confirmed a revised release strategy for its forthcoming dual albums, Bivrom and Danahin Pakhi, under which new tracks will be published at 15-day intervals. The decision follows the band’s earlier announcement that both albums would be released simultaneously.

The release schedule has already begun with the publication of Feriwala, a song from the album Bivrom. The track, written and composed by Junayed Evan, has been released through the band’s official YouTube channel. Following its release, the song has drawn notable attention from listeners, marking the beginning of the staggered rollout process.

While the group had initially indicated plans for full-album releases in a conventional format, they have since confirmed a change in approach. According to the band, releasing complete albums in a single batch is no longer aligned with their current method of distribution. Instead, they will release individual songs from both albums gradually until the full tracklists are completed.

Drummer Toufique Ahmed Bijoy stated that the band continues to work intensively on new musical content while adapting to audience expectations and contemporary listening patterns. He noted that public interest increased following the announcement of the two albums, which contributed to the decision to structure releases every 15 days. The band expects that all tracks from both albums will be released within the current year.

Album Structure and Release Plan

Album Name Composition Type Release Method
Bivrom Combination of older and recent works Individual songs every 15 days
Danahin Pakhi Combination of older and recent works Individual songs every 15 days

Both Bivrom and Danahin Pakhi are described by the band as the outcome of approximately ten years of creative work. The albums bring together compositions developed at different stages of their musical journey. Several of these songs had previously been performed at live concerts and events, but are now being officially released in recorded form for the first time. The band has also undertaken revisions in lyrical content, arrangement, and overall production.

Vocalist Junayed Evan has explained that the thematic focus of the albums centres on emotional experience and perception, rather than material considerations. The songs reflect on how modern life is increasingly influenced by materialism, while also highlighting alternative forms of emotional fulfilment. Natural imagery such as skies, moonlight, and rainfall is used to represent everyday experiences that shape human feeling. The albums also incorporate reflections on existential thought and internal emotional conflict.

In addition to their recording schedule, Ashes continues to maintain an active performance calendar. The band is preparing for a European tour scheduled for early June, with confirmed concerts in Rome and Venice in Italy, as well as Paris in France. One performance has been finalised for 16 June, while other dates are expected to be confirmed shortly. Following the tour, the group plans to return to Bangladesh for further live shows and continued studio work, including the development of future projects beyond the current albums.
