The long-awaited return of celebrated Pakistani vocalist Atif Aslam to Dhaka has been officially confirmed for this month. Headlining a major musical event titled ‘Main Stage Featuring Atif Aslam’, the subcontinent’s romantic icon will perform in the capital on Friday, 24 July. The announcement was validated directly by the artist via a post on his verified social media platform on Wednesday, 8 July, confirming his arrival with the simple declaration: ‘Dhaka – July 24, 2026’.
Organised by event management firm Main Stage, the high-profile concert is scheduled to take place at the Cricketers Academy grounds in the 300 Feet area of the capital. Reflecting a diverse musical curation, the international star will share the spotlight with two of Bangladesh’s prominent local outfits: the art-rock band Meghdol and alternative fusion group Level Five. The inclusion of these local acts ensures a multi-genre appeal, blending foreign commercial pop with homegrown contemporary tunes.
A sophisticated operational and logistical framework has been established to ensure crowd control and public safety. Ticket sales have already commenced across three distinct tiers to cater to a broad demographic of concertgoers. According to the organisers, the venue gates are scheduled to open at 2:00 pm, whilst strict security enforcement will see the entry gates locked permanently at 6:00 pm. The main musical programme will commence at 5:00 pm and is slated to run continuously until 10:00 pm.
Kazi Rafsan, a representative for Main Stage, described the upcoming concert as one of the most substantial musical undertakings of the year. He stated that the collective efforts of the production team, artists, and prospective audience members would elevate the evening from a standard commercial performance into a memorable gathering for cross-border music enthusiasts.
The 24 July fixture serves as a long-awaited resolution for fans who purchased tickets for the original iteration of the show, which was abruptly postponed. The concert was initially slated to occur on 13 December last year. Although ticket lines had cleared and production setups were nearly complete, security concerns following the announcement of the national election schedule forced an eleventh-hour suspension. At the time, organisers maintained that the event was merely deferred rather than cancelled, promising a return under stable conditions.
To address the historical disruption, the organizers have introduced a comprehensive ticketing reconciliation framework. Patrons who retained their tickets from the postponed 2025 event without seeking refunds will not require new purchases; they simply need to complete an online verification process on the official platform. Once the claims are validated, newly updated passes will be issued and shipped directly to their residences free of charge. Furthermore, individuals who previously requested refunds but have not yet received their funds are being permitted to rescind their cancellation requests, allowing them to claim standard entry tickets instead under the same complimentary home-delivery scheme.
