Bangladesh has secured the last two trophies of the Under-19 Asia Cup. The youth team is now aiming for a hat-trick title in the United Arab Emirates. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-member squad for this tournament, led by Azizul Hakim.
A total of 8 teams will participate in two groups in this year’s Youth Asia Cup. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals. Bangladesh is grouped with Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, and Nepal in Group ‘B’.
This year’s Youth Asia Cup will commence on 12 December. The Bangladesh Under-19 team will play their first match against Afghanistan the following day. Azizul’s team will face Nepal on 15 December and the Sri Lankan youth team on 17 December.
Bangladesh won the Youth World Cup in 2020. In 2023, the youth team secured the Youth Asia Cup for the first time under the leadership of Mahfuzur Rahman. Last year, Bangladesh claimed their second title, also led by Azizul Hakim.
