Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman is all set to make his first appearance in the IL T20 League, joining Dubai Capitals. The franchise confirmed the news on social media, sparking excitement among fans across Bangladesh and beyond.
The path to selection was not straightforward. Initially, Mustafizur had been drafted three months ago as a replacement for England’s left-arm pacer Luke Wood. But roughly a month ago, Wood was released, and Haider Ali was brought in, casting doubt on Mustafizur’s T20 debut.
However, the Capitals have now reaffirmed their faith in him, including him in the squad starting 2 December, replacing GM Ritesh. This means fans can finally see Mustafizur’s pace, swing, and clever variations on display in a competitive franchise setting.
Bangladesh has multiple representatives in this season’s IL T20 League. Shakib Al Hasan will play for Mumbai Emirates, and Taskin Ahmed has been picked by Sharjah Warriors. Mustafizur’s inclusion adds further depth to Bangladesh’s T20 credentials.
Cricket fans are eagerly awaiting his debut, hoping for spectacular bowling displays that could turn matches in Dubai Capitals’ favour. His participation not only strengthens the team but also provides valuable exposure for the young pacer, enhancing his reputation in global T20 cricket.
