Bangladesh Police Launches Recruitment Drive for Over 10,000 Constables

In a major recruitment drive aimed at boosting its law enforcement capacity across the country, Bangladesh Police has issued a official circular to fill more than 10,000 vacancies for the post of Trainee Recruit Constable (TRC). Eligible male and female candidates from all 64 districts are eligible to apply online. With the application deadline set for 11:59 pm on 30 October 2026, jobseekers have only a few days remaining to complete their submissions through the designated portal.

Successful applicants will undergo an intensive six-month basic training programme. Upon satisfactory completion of their instruction, recruit constables will join the force under Grade 17 of the national pay scale, receiving a salary range between BDT 21,400 and BDT 51,900 alongside standard government allowances.

Candidates must satisfy specific demographic, physical, and educational standards to qualify for consideration. Applicants must be between 18 and 20 years of age as of 30 October 2026, though statutory relaxation applies to children of freedom fighters, martyred freedom fighters, and Birangonas in accordance with government quota regulations. Academically, candidates require a Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or an equivalent qualification, including vocational certificates, with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.50. Furthermore, applicants must be unmarried; divorced individuals are ineligible for this intake.

The application window opened on 13 October 2026, and candidate processing requires a nominal fee of BDT 65 submitted via the official Teletalk recruitment portal. District-wise distribution of vacancies has been made available on the police force’s central portal to allow prospective recruits to review quotas specific to their home regions.

Following the initial screening, shortlisted candidates must participate in physical endurance tests, physical measurements, and document verification at their respective district Police Lines grounds. To manage the large volume of applicants effectively, the police authority has categorized the 64 districts into four administrative groups, each scheduled for physical assessments starting at 8:00 am daily:

  • Group 1: 13–15 November 2026

  • Group 2: 16–18 November 2026

  • Group 3: 19–21 November 2026

  • Group 4: 22–24 November 2026

Those who pass the physical screening will move forward to the written examination, scheduled between 25 November and 19 December 2026. The final phase of selection—comprising psychological and oral examinations—will run from 5 December to 26 December 2026.

This large-scale recruitment initiative comes at a time when Bangladesh Police is working to strengthen community-level policing and improve public safety ratios across both urban centers and rural upazilas. Expanding the constable rank is essential for maintaining law and order, ensuring swift emergency response times, and managing traffic systems nationwide. Interested candidates are advised to verify district-specific examination schedules on the official Bangladesh Police portal and submit their online forms well before the upcoming deadline.
