Bangladesh continued their impressive form in the AFC Under-17 Asian Cup Qualifiers, securing their third consecutive win with a dominant 5-0 victory over Sri Lanka.
In Wednesday’s match at China’s Tengilong Long Stadium, Najmul Huda Faisal scored twice, while Ikramul Islam, Mohammad Manik and Bayezid Bostami netted one goal each.
Bangladesh opened the scoring in the 24th minute through Ikramul. Five minutes later, Manik doubled the lead with a precise strike from a pass by Apu. The first half ended 2-0.
Bangladesh maintained their attacking momentum after the break. Faisal scored again from a pass by Rifat Kazi. In added time, Bayezid struck from long range, followed shortly by Faisal finding the net once more. Bangladesh ultimately sealed a comfortable 5-0 victory.
With this win, Bangladesh have kept a clean sheet in all three of their qualifying matches. They earlier defeated Timor-Leste 5-0 in their opening match and beat Brunei 8-0 in the second match under the guidance of coach Golam Rabbani Choton.
On Friday, Bangladesh Under-17 will face Bahrain in their fourth group-stage match.
