BRAC Bank and Midway Securities Limited have signed a Transaction Banking Agreement to introduce more efficient and technology-driven financial transaction services for capital market investors. The partnership aims to make payment and collection processes faster, easier and more effective through API-based digital banking solutions.
The agreement was signed recently at an event in Dhaka by Md. Shaheen Iqbal, Additional Managing Director and Head of Wholesale Banking at BRAC Bank, and Md. Ashequr Rahman, Managing Director of Midway Securities Limited, representing their respective organisations.
Under the agreement, Midway Securities will use BRAC Bank’s API-based collection and payment solutions to streamline its customer transaction management system. The initiative is expected to provide investors with a more convenient way to complete financial activities, including fund deposits, payments and other investment-related transactions.
The move reflects the growing adoption of digital technology across the financial sector. As customers increasingly seek faster and more reliable services, banks and financial institutions are focusing on building integrated digital platforms to improve transaction efficiency.
API technology plays a significant role in this transformation by enabling different digital systems to communicate with each other automatically. This reduces manual processes, improves operational speed and helps institutions deliver services in a more organised manner.
For capital market participants, secure and timely financial transactions are essential. Efficient payment and collection mechanisms can help investors manage their investment-related activities with greater ease while supporting smoother coordination between brokerage firms and banking institutions.
BRAC Bank has been working to expand technology-based banking services for corporate and institutional clients. Through digital solutions, the bank aims to strengthen financial service delivery and provide modern banking facilities that meet the evolving needs of businesses.
Midway Securities Limited, meanwhile, provides brokerage services to investors in Bangladesh’s capital market. Through this collaboration, the company will be able to enhance its transaction management capabilities and offer improved digital facilities to its clients.
The partnership comes at a time when digital transformation is reshaping financial services globally. The integration of banking technology with capital market operations is creating new opportunities for institutions to provide faster and more accessible services.
Industry stakeholders believe that such collaborations can contribute to a more connected financial ecosystem by improving transaction convenience and efficiency for investors. As digital banking infrastructure continues to expand, stronger cooperation between banks and financial service providers is expected to play an important role in modernising financial operations.
