Child Killed and Five Injured in Siddhirganj Collision

A fatal road traffic accident involving a CNG-driven autorickshaw and a private car on the Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road at Jalkuri, under the jurisdiction of the Siddhirganj Police Station, has resulted in the death of a six-year-old child. The deceased has been identified as Synthia Rahman Humayra. In addition to the fatality, five other individuals, including the child’s parents, sustained various injuries during the collision.

The incident transpired on Friday, 19 June 2026, at approximately 22:00 BST near the Jalkuri underpass area. Synthia Rahman Humayra was the daughter of Md. Ashikur Rahman Shamim, a resident of the Banglabazar area within the Munshiganj Sadar Upazila. Following the crash, emergency responders and local residents transferred the injured victims to several nearby medical facilities for treatment.

According to statements provided by eyewitnesses and police personnel, a Dhaka-bound CNG autorickshaw was struck from behind by a speeding private car travelling in the same direction. The force of the impact caused the autorickshaw to crumple entirely, inflicting severe injuries upon young Humayra, who was inside the vehicle. Local residents immediately extracted the injured child from the wreckage, but she succumbed to her injuries before she could be transported to a hospital. Her parents and three other passengers sustained injuries of varying severity.

Following the collision, local citizens and law enforcement officers coordinated the extraction and evacuation of the surviving injured passengers. Upon receiving notification of the accident, a police contingent arrived at the scene to manage public order and clear the disrupted traffic lanes.
