A fire broke out at an ink manufacturing factory in Demra, located in the capital, Dhaka, on Thursday morning. According to confirmed reports from the Fire Service, the incident began at approximately 11:38 am. At the time of reporting around 12:45 pm, the fire had not yet been brought under control.
The affected facility is an ink production factory situated in the Amulia Model Town area of Demra. Officials have confirmed that the structure is a tin-shed building. The Fire Service stated that the first information regarding the blaze was received at 11:38 am, following which emergency response units were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Initial firefighting operations were undertaken by two units from the Demra Fire Station. As the situation developed, additional reinforcements were deployed. Two further units from the Siddiqbazar Fire Station subsequently joined the operation to support containment efforts. According to Fire Service sources, a total of four units were actively engaged in controlling the blaze during the initial phase of the response.
A Fire Service media cell inspector, Mohammad Anwarul Islam, confirmed the details to the press, stating that the fire originated at an ink manufacturing facility in Amulia Model Town, Demra. He further noted that, in addition to the four units already deployed, two more units were en route to the location to assist in ongoing firefighting operations.
Preliminary information from Fire Service sources suggests that the factory may contain chemical materials, although no further verified details regarding the composition or quantity of such materials have been officially confirmed. Authorities have not yet provided information on the cause of the fire or the extent of damage to property.
