A fire broke out on the eighth floor of the new Cabinet building at Dhaka Secretariat. On Sunday (30 November), three fire service units arrived at the scene and quickly brought the fire under control.

According to the Fire Service, the fire started on the ninth floor of the 20-storey building due to an electrical short circuit in an external adjust fan. No major fire units were needed to control the blaze, as it was extinguished using a fire extinguisher.

All staff inside the building evacuated safely. No casualties have been reported.
