According to Nazrul Islam, Sub-officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence, the blaze started at 12:44 am from a kitchen stove and quickly spread. Ten firefighting units responded to the scene and managed to control the fire by 1:35 am, after nearly an hour of intense efforts.

Meanwhile, another fire broke out on Friday evening at Taltola in Khilgaon, gutting 20 shops, including two sawmills and several garages.
The fire ignited around 7:30 pm and was controlled by nine firefighting engines by 9:35 pm. Officials suspect that a chemical drum explosion caused the fire to spread rapidly.
