A destructive fire has swept through the Matrix Style garment factory, situated adjacent to Maleker Bari in the Digirchala district of Gazipur metropolis. The industrial blaze began early on Saturday morning, triggering an emergency mobilisation of the Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence. Five specialized firefighting teams were deployed to the industrial complex to battle the flames.

Azizul Haq, the duty officer at the Gazipur Bhogra Fire Service and Civil Defence base, verified the details of the crisis. He stated that following an emergency call, five distinct teams from the Bhogra Bypass Fire Service Station were rushed to the location to initiate defensive operations. The tactical deployment and rescue strategies are being overseen by Hiron Miah, the serving In-charge of the Fire Service and Civil Defence team.

Detailing the exact timeline of the emergency dispatch, Duty Officer Azizul Haq outlined the framework of the ongoing operation.

“Our control room received the distress alert at precisely 10:05 am,” Haq reported. “Our emergency responders arrived at the factory site within minutes and are actively attempting to suppress the inferno. However, according to our latest operational dispatches, the fire has not yet been brought under control.”

According to an eyewitness account from a local resident, thick smoke and heavy flames suddenly breached the windows of the factory’s sixth floor. The fire expanded rapidly through the upper level of the structure. Factory labourers and nearby citizens initially tried to suppress the outbreak using basic hand-held extinguishers and water. As the fire grew in intensity, the heat became unmanageable, forcing the factory floor managers to contact emergency dispatchers.

Because the containment operation is still underway, full details regarding the source of the fire and the integrity of the building remain unverified.
