Fire Set on Railway Tracks in Brahmanbaria, Train Movement Temporarily Disrupted

An incident of fire on the railway tracks was reported in Brahmanbaria. The fire occurred around 1:45 a.m. on Wednesday (November 12) in the Dubla area of Sadar Upazila, near the Akhaura–Chinair road. Amid incidents of arson and crude bomb explosions across the country centering on the banned Awami League’s “Dhaka Lockdown” program scheduled for Thursday (November 13), this railway fire marks another such act.

The fire, set by miscreants, temporarily disrupted train movement. Two Chattogram-bound trains—Turna Nishita and Bijoy Express—were halted at Brahmanbaria Railway Station. However, train services resumed about half an hour later.

Confirming the incident, Akhaura Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) S.M. Shafiqul Islam said that upon receiving the report, he rushed to the scene with police personnel around 3:15 a.m.

He stated that the miscreants had set fire to a plastic pipe placed on the railway track. They fled the scene before police arrived. The OC further confirmed that train movement has since returned to normal.
