The internationally recognised vocalist EJ, widely celebrated for her contribution to the hit track ‘Golden’, has officially shared details regarding a significant milestone in her personal life. The singer, who provided the singing voice for the character Rumi in the popular Netflix animated feature film K-Pop: Demon Hunters, has confirmed that she is scheduled to marry her partner, Sam Kim, in November.
The upcoming marriage follows the formal completion of the couple’s engagement. EJ recently utilised her official social media platforms to share a photograph featuring herself alongside her fiancé, Sam Kim. The romantic image was captured at the historic Estadio Azteca stadium, located in Mexico City, Mexico.
In the published photograph, the couple can be observed posing closely together with their cheeks pressed against each other whilst smiling for the camera. Following the release of the post, fans and social media followers populated the comments section with congratulatory messages and well-wishes. In the accompanying caption of the uploaded photos, EJ expressed her appreciation for the location, writing:
“An incredible experience! Mexico City, you are truly beautiful.”
According to an official media report published by The Korea Times, all formal wedding proceedings and ceremonies between EJ and Sam Kim are scheduled to be fully minimised and concluded within the upcoming month of November.
The announcement follows EJ’s recent high-profile performance at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup, which generated considerable international attention. Taking to the stage erected inside the Estadio Azteca, the South Korean musical artist delivered a live performance of the song ‘DNA’ alongside the legendary Italian operatic tenor, Andrea Bocelli.
The studio production and official commercial release of ‘DNA’ features a diverse lineup of prominent global artists, including the French electronic music producer David Guetta and the American rapper Megan Thee Stallion. In addition to performing the track live, EJ held direct creative involvement in the development of the song, serving as the lyricist responsible for writing the entirely Korean-language segments of the track.
During her performance at the prestigious sporting event, EJ drew public interest for her specific choice of footwear. Rather than opting for standard formal attire options, such as high heels or traditional dress shoes, the vocalist performed on stage whilst wearing casual sneakers. It was subsequently clarified and confirmed that this specific wardrobe decision was intentionally made by the singer to protect the pitch and prevent any structural damage to the delicate grass surface of the iconic football stadium.
EJ originally attained widespread international recognition and professional acclaim through her extensive involvement with the Netflix animated production K-Pop: Demon Hunters. Within the cinematic project, she lent her musical talents to the character named Rumi, executing all necessary singing vocals required for the role.
| Song Component | EJ’s Professional Role |
| Vocal Performance | Primary Singing Voice for ‘Rumi’ |
| Lyric Compilation | Official Co-writer of the Track |
| Melody Development | Official Co-composer of the Track |
Her work on the film’s highly successful and widely discussed soundtrack anthem, ‘Golden’, extended far beyond basic vocal performance. In addition to delivering the definitive vocal track for the song, EJ was explicitly credited as both a co-writer of the lyrics and a co-composer of the musical arrangement. This multi-faceted creative involvement firmly established her status as a prominent figure within the contemporary global music industry, setting a successful foundation for both her career and her newly announced personal milestones.
