The price of gold in Bangladesh has decreased following a decline in the international market. The maximum reduction stands at Tk 2,158 per bhori. The revised prices came into effect at 10:00 am on Tuesday.
The announcement was made in a press release issued by the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) earlier in the morning. This adjustment follows a recent period of frequent price changes. Notably, the price of gold had increased by Tk 2,158 per bhori on Thursday night, while an equivalent reduction had been recorded earlier that same morning.
Revised Gold Prices
Under the new pricing structure, the cost of one bhori (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold has been reduced to Tk 240,336. Prices for other categories have also been adjusted accordingly. The revised rates are as follows:
- 21-carat gold: Tk 229,431 per bhori
- 18-carat gold: Tk 196,655 per bhori
- Traditional gold: Tk 160,147 per bhori
Prior to this revision, the market prices stood higher across all categories, reflecting the previous upward adjustment.

Silver prices, however, remain unchanged despite the adjustment in gold rates. The price of 22-carat silver continues to be Tk 5,482 per bhori.
According to market observations cited in the announcement, fluctuations in domestic gold prices are closely linked to movements in the international bullion market. BAJUS stated that regular adjustments are made to align local pricing with global trends.
It was further noted that in 2025, global gold prices have increased significantly overall, rising by approximately 70 per cent. Despite this broader upward trend, recent short-term movements in the international market have shown a decline. Over the past 30 days, the global price of gold has reportedly decreased by around 132 US dollars per ounce.
The statement also indicated that, in the context of ongoing geopolitical tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the United States, there has not been a strong upward pressure on gold prices in recent periods. Based on current market signals, no major short-term increase in global gold prices is anticipated.
In Bangladesh, gold prices are reviewed and adjusted periodically by BAJUS in line with international market conditions, import costs, and other related economic factors.
